The Lawrence Hall of Science
The public science center of the University of California, Berkeley.
10:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.
On a visit to The Lawrence, students collaborate to investigate new ideas as they become scientists and engineers for a day.
We partner with school districts to support science learning. We offer district-wide elementary, middle, and high school programs, either virtually or in-person.
We collaborate with a range of partners to innovate in science education. Together, we go further.
Are you looking to explore the surface of the Sun from your phone? We have an app for that! The Lawrence Hall of Science continues its long tradition of excellence in educational technology with a suite of new apps that explore hands-on science and important health topics.
Digital Cell Puzzles is an app that lets you solve problems the way a bioengineer would. First choose the problem you want to solve, then design your own solution by changing the inner workings of digital model cells. Bioengineers are creating digital models of the inner workings of real live cells to solve problems ranging from plastic pollution to a disease destroying citrus trees. Try it out!
