The Lawrence Reopens Halloween Weekend!

September 30, 2021

The Lawrence is excited to announce that after being closed for 19 months, we will reopen our doors starting Saturday, October 30! Members and visitors will explore new exhibits and experience their old favorite activities indoors for the first time since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. Read on for more on what you can expect when you join us this fall.

Take a closer look and explore the science of public health in our all-new featured exhibit Pandemic Detectives. Visitors will learn about the measures we can take to protect our communities from COVID-19 and other pathogens. Discover how masks work, what antibodies do, and more when you visit The Lawrence. Pandemic Detectives is sponsored by Clorox.

In addition to new activities, explore returning favorites like Design Quest and Ingenuity Challenges. Design, build, and test your own inventions as you learn about the engineering process. Our youngest visitors will be excited to see that Young Explorers’ Area is back, too!

When you arrive, you may notice some changes around the building. We’ve been hard at work refreshing the science center to be even more welcoming and engaging for all of our visitors. Improved wayfinding, a redesigned Lawrence Discovery Store, and new vibrant colors are just a few of the new things in store for our visitors this Fall and beyond.

The health of our visitors is always our top priority. That’s why we’re taking the following steps to keep our visitors safe and prevent the spread of COVID-19:

  • Masks are required for visitors 2 and up
  • Our cafe is closed, and eating and drinking are only permitted in designated outdoor areas
  • Exhibits and public areas are sanitized regularly

Online tickets will be available soon for pre-purchase, so plan your visit now! We can’t wait to welcome you back to investigate, discover, and invent together again.
