This position is for an Outdoor Nature Lab Program Manager at The Lawrence Hall of Science. Responsibilities include leading a cross departmental project team in the planning, opening and running of the Outdoor Nature Lab; planning and development of new programs and curriculum; actively participating in long-range strategic planning for science center’s Outdoor Nature Lab public educational programs; evaluating prospective program partnerships; recruiting, selecting, orienting, training and supervising program volunteers, interns and students; evaluating and adjusting curriculum through participant evaluations and level of interest shown.
The Lawrence Hall of Science at University of California, Berkeley is currently developing a new 2.5 million dollar Outdoor Nature Center (ONL) that will provide outdoor learning experiences to science center visitors, school program audiences and professional learning experiences for formal and informal educators. This project will result in world class outdoor learning experiences that serve as a launching pad, providing visitors with tools and skills they can use anywhere in nature: at local parks, in other nature centers, in communities, schoolyards, and other urban places. Through broad dissemination of resources, tools, and designs, this project will support hundreds of other nature centers and outdoor learning areas to improve their practices.
