Winter Camp

School’s out, but don’t let the learning end! With new adventures each day, you can put on your goggles and mix up a few concoctions, create your own gadgets, and get to know a few new animal friends. Each session will run Monday and Tuesday. Winter Camp is for kids age 4½ –11 (children are grouped by age).

Register online starting October 2.

Week 1: Design, Build, Test

December 22 & 23
9:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m., including lunchtime
Cost: $135 / $110 Members
Sessions offered by grade range.

Campers will have fun designing, building and testing simple machines and structures, including ones to bring home! They will meet live animals and learn about how they "build" their homes. Explore space in our planetarium and find out how astronauts desing, build and test. Activities adapted for each age group. 

 

Week 2: Winter Wonderland

December 29 & 30
9:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m., including lunchtime
Cost: $135 / $110 Members
Sessions offered by grade range.

Explore cold temperatures. Make concoctions that bring winter snow and ice inside, including some we can eat! Explore space in the planetarium and find out where it is coldest, meet live animals and find out how they survive in cold climates. Activities adapted for each age group.

 

Extended Day Program

1:00–4:00 p.m.
Cost: $60 per week

Want camp to run until 4:00 p.m.? When you register for camp, simply sign up for our Extended Day Program. Campers will get to explore our exhibits, visit the Animal Discovery Room, catch a 3-D movie, travel the skies in a Planetarium program, play games, and do many other fun projects. Please remember to pack an afternoon snack for your camper.
