In trees, on the forest floor, and in ponds...animal homes are all around us! Meet animals that make their homes in tree holes and branches; search for little creatures living in leaves and soil; and have close-up encounters with turtles, frogs, crayfish, and other pond animals. Through observation and hands-on activities, you'll find out what makes a good home for animals living right in your backyard and neighborhood.

Winter 2015 Series: Wind, Water, Wheels

Three Saturdays: January 3, February 7, March 7
10:00–11:00 a.m.
Ages 3–6 with participating adult

 $75 ($60 for Members)

Workshops held at the Lawrence Hall of Science

How can air move things? Find out by testing materials in our giant wind tube. Make water flow fast or slow—or push another object, as you play and build. What kinds of objects can roll? How can we make them roll faster or slower, or spin in circles? Through observation and hands-on activities, explore the physics behind wind, water, and wheels. Young scientists will take home materials from each class to continue playing and investigating at home.

Spring 2015 Series: Springtime Biology

Three Saturdays: April 4, May 2, June 6
10:00–11:00 a.m.
Ages 3–6 with participating adult

$75 ($60 for Members)

Workshops held at the Lawrence Hall of Science

Join us as we discover some of the wonders of springtime by investigating frogs, chicks, and ladybugs. Find out how these animals develop from egg to adult, feed them their favorite foods, and compare them to other animals from the LHS Animal Discovery Room. You'll even have a turn to feel a frog's slippery skin, hold a baby chick in your lap, and let a ladybug tickle your finger.
