The Visitor Services Desk is the Hall Call Center

The Visitor Services Desk is now serving as your call center for emergencies, urgent building issues, and questions about events.  Visitor Services staff have the tools to locate the designated daily building supervisor and on-call facilities staff, and have been trained in directing calls to the right Hall and Campus staff to get you served as quickly as possible.

Please call the VS Desk - 642-9058 in any of the following situations.

  1. Emergencies:  In the case of an emergency, your second call (after 911) should be to the VS Desk.  VS will alert the designated daily supervisor who can get the appropriate internal response to the situation moving.
  2. Urgent Building Issues:  Overflowing toilets? Kid sick in a classroom?  Out of toilet paper in the restrooms? The VS desk will get a hold of the on call member of the facilities or custodial staff as appropriate.
  3. Routine Building Issues:  Information coming soon on a new e-mail system for routine Building Management requests.
  4. Parking or Parking Lot Issues:  Having trouble with the parking payment machines?  Notice some broken glass in the parking lot that might indicate a break in?  The VS desk has direct lines to campus parking and transportation's daily supervisor and the UC Police.  Please report any problem you notice in the lots to the desk.
  5. Questions about events: What's the large group taking over the auditorium today? What's that trapeze set up happening on the C level lawn?  Is the Hall doing anything for the upcoming lunar eclipse?  The VS desk will answer your questions to the best of our ability or direct your call where it can best be answered.

Help Us Help You:  You can help the VS desk be more effective in its work by:

  • Updating your listing in the campus directory Unless you updated your listing when CTI prompted staff to do so, only your e-mail address is listed in the online directory. Please update your listing with a phone number.
  • Filing Event Sheets when staging an event
  • Alerting us when you are expecting an outside visitor
  • Providing a point of contact and a description of any new program or project you're starting that people might be likely to asks questions about or that involves external partners coming in for meetings, etc.
