Developed through a seed grant awarded in early 1999 by the NSF Geoscience Directorate, the SRRP geoscience research intern program provides opportunities for students to work as paid interns alongside professional scientists engaged in geoscience research. Students learn important research-related skills and receive practical job experience through the performance of important tasks integral to the functioning of active research projects. Continued operation of the program has benefited from funding provided by the William K. Holt Foundation.
