Rolller Coaster Design Challenge
When you visit the Inventor’s Lab in Vallejo this April you can design your own roller coaster using ramps, lifts, loops, and jumps. Post a picture or video of your coaster design to the Lawrence Hall of Science’s Facebook page by April 27, “like” the page, and you’ll be entered to win four tickets to Six Flags Discovery Kingdom and a tour behind the scenes OR a preview of the new SUPERMAN: Ultimate Flight ride.

First Anniversary Celebration

A Six Flags Discovery Kingdom roller coaster expert will be at the event to talk about the science of roller coasters and announce the winners of our roller coaster design contest.  Stop by to explore hands-on exhibits where you design, build, and test your own creations.

Inventor Lab and Six Flags Discovery Kingdom partnering to bring together science and roller coasters
The team from the Lawrence Hall of Science Inventors Lab will be at Six Flags Discovery Kindgom Education Days – Math & Science Day and Physics Day, and on Ocean Discovery Day they will be joined by the Hall's MARE program. We will also be at the Girls Scout weekend on Sunday, May 20 where girls get to design, build and test gadgets using circuitry.

Professional Development Training for Out-Of-School Educators
Saturday, April 21
9:00 a.m. – noon
Cost: $10
Get trained so you can easily lead science activities that excite kids in your out-of-school program about science, build their science knowledge and inquiry abilities, and help them learn important cooperation and teamwork skills.
