REA StaffCenter Staff Ann Barter, Evaluation Associate: Ann is a Ph.D. candidate in Quantitative Methods and Evaluation at UC Berkeley's Graduate School of Education. Ann specializes in program evaluation and analysis of student learning assessments. Michael Davis, Research Specialist: Michael received his Ph.D. from Stanford University in Educational Psychology He specializes in research regarding equity in mathematics education. Rebecca Deutscher, Evaluation Specialist: Rebecca received her Ph.D. in Educational Psychology from Arizona State University and her master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from San Diego State University. Her research and evaluation interests focus on educational technology. Rena Dorph, Center Director: Rena received her Ph.D. from the University of California, Berkeley in Educational Policy, Organization, Measurement, and Evaluation and her M.A. in the Sociology of Education from Columbia University/Teachers College. David Goldstein, Center Associate Director: David earned an M.A. in Public Policy, with a focus on educational policy, from the University of California, Berkeley. Prior to working at LHS David has worked as a bilingual teacher, school administrator, district statistician, evaluator, and policy analyst. Patty Kreikemeier, Assessment Director: Patty received her M.S. in Developmental Biology from the University of Cincinatti and holds both teaching and administrative credentials. Her career has included: biochemistry research, high school science teaching, assessment development and consultation, and educational research and evaluation. Kristin Nagy Catz, Assessment Specialist: Kristin received her Ph.D. in science education from Vanderbilt University and a Master’s degree in molecular biology from The University of Cincinnati. Kristin specializes in the development of assessments of student learning in science. Shirley Lee, Research & Evaluation Coordinator: Shirley received her M.A. from Teachers College/ Columbia University in English Education. Prior to working at LHS, Shirley worked as a middle grades math teacher and research associate in Boston. Scott Randol, Research Specialist: Scott Randol received his Ph.D. in Science and Math Education (SESAME) at the University of California, Berkeley and his Master’s degree in Physics at the University of Washington. Scott specializes in studies of learning in informal settings. Jami Rousseaux, Center Administrator: Jami has had extensive administrative experience supporting research, evaluation, and assessment functions. Prior to working at LHS, Jami had worked for both the Research, Policy, and Technology Unit and the New Standards Project at the University of California Office of the President. Maia Werner-Avidon, Research& Evaluation Coordinator: Maia received her M.A. in Museum Studies from John F. Kennedy University.
