Science Shows

Dazzling science presentations feature large-scale demonstrations and lots of audience participation. Highlight phase change or wow your students with the power of electricity. Science shows are held virtually or at your site for groups of up to 300, grades K–8.

Science Festivals

Bring lively science and engineering experiences to your school and community. Students and adults alike investigate, collaborate, and problem-solve as they navigate several table top exhibits, generating excitement and love for learning. Festivals also create an engaging atmosphere for open houses, family nights, and other community events. Perfect for groups of 40–150, grades TK–12.

Questions

How far in advance do I need to make my reservation?

Workshops and outreach programs (festivals and science shows) must be booked and paid at least 6 weeks in advance. For best availability, book as soon as possible.

When is payment due?

Educational programs must be paid within 30 days after booking or 6 weeks in advance of the program (whichever comes first).

What is the cancellation/refund policy?

You may cancel your program up to 6 weeks in advance of the delivery date with no penalty. For cancellations made less than 6 weeks in advance, no refunds will be issued.

Given the wide variety of local guidelines related to Coronavirus, we understand that plans may need to change. Groups needing to reschedule or cancel Field Trips or Outreach Programs due to Coronavirus related issue should email our Registration Office at lhsreg@berkeley.edu. We will do our best to meet your needs.

Do your programs require volunteers?

Our festivals require 12–16 adult volunteers to help manage the stations and engage the students. The specific number of volunteers needed is listed with each program description. Science shows do not require adult volunteers but do require classroom teachers/adults to be with the students.

Do you offer any discounts?

We offer a 30% reduced rate for Title 1 schools for festivals and science shows at your site.

What if my site is a long distance from The Lawrence? Are there any different travel fees or other fees?

Different travel fees may apply for long distances (over 80 miles away). Please inquire with Registration at lhsreg@berkeley.edu.
