Programs for Schools
Do more science with your students. Create a memorable science experience for your students, age 2 through grade 12, by choosing from our wide assortment of programs and curricula. Seek out new opportunities to grow your skills as an educator with a variety of curriculum and professional development opportunities.
On a visit to the Hall, students collaborate to investigate new ideas as they become scientists and engineers for a day—exploring Earth and space, the nanoscale, and force and motion. Our featured exhibits, 3-D films, and workshops, tailored for your class level, enhance your students' experience.
Whether at the Hall or at your site, every student becomes a scientist in workshops that augment your curriculum. Choose from dozens of enticing workshops in Earth science, life science, math, physical science, and even the Planetarium. Workshops are held for 12–32 students, age 2 through grade 12.
Dazzling science presentations feature large-scale demonstrations and lots of audience participation. Highlight earthquake science or phase change, and wow your students with the science of fire or the power of electricity. Science shows are held at your site for groups of 200–300, grades K through 8.
Bring lively science, math, or engineering experiences to your school. Students and adults alike investigate, collaborate, and problem-solve at 10 to 12 tabletop exhibits, generating excitement and love for learning. Festivals create an engaging atmosphere for open houses, family nights, and other community events. Perfect for groups of 40–150, grades K through 12.
Do more science in your classroom. Our science and math curricula offer engaging, research-based, instructional materials designed by leading educators at UC Berkeley. (They reach at least 25 percent of the nation’s K–12 students at some point in their schooling.) Each program provides support and education in the use of these innovative materials and methods.
Your learning is every bit as important as that of your students! Each year, over 20,000 educators participate in our professional development workshops through regional, national, and international programs. Find out about Hall programs for teachers in formal K–12 classrooms, for informal educators in science centers and afterschool programs, and even for college and university instructors.
