Tips from Teachers

We built our Rocky Seashore all year long. The kids were always ready to share all about the organisms they had placed there with any classroom visitor! We read about Frieda Kahlo. I told my students that Frieda would do a wonderful painting, then write a sentence about it. Once a month, we built Rocky Seashore organisms, and wrote sentences about them. We started in Spanish and transitioned to English - the students really got the English work because they had such ownership of the topic!
