High School Teachers:

lifelines logoWe are organizing Professional Learning Communities focusing on how to best incorporate climate change education in your courses. For details, see our Lifelines for High School Climate Change Education page.

Global Systems Science (GSS), for grades 9-12, focuses on societal issues that require science for full understanding. It is a series of twelve student books (described below), teacher guides, and software. GSS can be a one-year integrated science course or serve as supplementary materials for existing high school biology, physics, chemistry, Earth science, or social studies courses.

GSS can reduce textbook costs by an order of magnitude!
See the "Order" page for details.
You can download and review samples of all GSS books for free.

Correlations between GSS & Science Education Standards

GSS is partner with ClimateChangeEducation.org

GSS includes astronomy: the Hands-On Universe books A Changing Cosmos (high school) and Solar System Science (developed for middle school).

GSS professional development services include teacher workshops and curriculum design meetings.

A New World View introduces the GSS central concept of Earth systems in which everything is connected to everything else. It shows how the Earth has tremendously diverse environments, yet is a single planet that we all call "home." Includes focus on forests and an investigation of life inside a terrarium.
