Family Health
Teachers, parents, teens, child care providers, and other adults are invited to explore
hands-on health science activities at the 2002 Family Health Conference.
The conference begins with refreshments and a fun, large
group activity that introduces key health issues. Small-group workshops feature hands-on
activities related to asthma and allergies, communication for teens, nutrition and
gardens, heart health, and science on the web. These activities are designed to promote
problem solving and critical thinking and are suitable for use at home or in the
classroom.
Participants receive take-home materials such as The Wellness Guide in Spanish
or English.
Materials are offered in Spanish for Spanish-speaking adults and teens, and adults
and teens who work with Spanish-speaking children.
