About Ocean Immersion™ Month
The Ocean Immersion™ Month at each school includes:
- articulated curriculum materials for each grade level aligned to district and national science standards;
- home study activities for families
- integration of language acquisition and literacy skill development into the science curriculum;
- whole-school events like science nights and the Ocean Creature Feature Festival that promote cross-grade collaboration and parent involvement;
- family science field trips;
- and outreach visits from local informal education institutions and community volunteers.
