Weekday Classes

Due to declining enrollment, LHS will not be offering weekday, afterschool classes in spring 2010. We regret any inconvenience or disappointment this may cause. Thursday classes for homeschoolers will continue, however.

Helping busy parents support their children’s educational growth remains important to the team at Lawrence Hall of Science. We invite you to enjoy our newly launched weekend Ingenuity programs, ongoing and traveling exhibits, and upcoming summer camps. You can find the science experience that’s right for you and your family!

  • LHS is open to the public daily, 10:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. A membership gets you in free all year long. Visit the RACE exhibit through May 2. And get ready for Scream Machines: The Science of Roller Coasters, opening May 22.
  • On weekends, check out our new Ingenuity Lab, our Weekend Ingenuity Workshops, the Animal Discovery Room, and the new planetarium.
  • Mark your calendar for special programming during spring break weeks  March 29-April 9.
  • Celebrate your child’s birthday at LHS with a fun, hands-on party workshop, discounted for LHS members.
  • Sign up your young scientist for an LHS summer camp. Registration is open now for day and overnight camps.

Create a Weekday Class Series for Your Group

Individuals can schedule a special program for afterschool clubs, scout groups, or play groups. You can schedule workshops at custom times and dates for your group of 12–16 children. Read program descriptions in the Programs and Schools and Community Groups catalog. For more information on how to schedule a customized program for your group, call 510-642-5134 Mon.–Fri, 8:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m.
