How to Register
Register online (preferred); by fax, mail, phone, or in person. Please use only one method of registration to avoid duplicate enrollments and charges. LHS accepts VISA, MasterCard, Discover, or check (made out to The Regents of the University of California). Please use or photocopy additional applications if enrolling for more than one camper or program. Please have your completed application and credit card ready when you call the Registration Office at (510) 642-5134, Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. You may fax your completed application and credit card information anytime to (510) 643-0994. To register online, visit our website at www.lawrencehallofscience.org and follow the summer camp links. All applications mailed, faxed, or phoned in to the Registration Office will be processed through our online database. Your email address is required and will become your account login. Research Camp high school students also need to complete the questionnaire and send it to LHS or email it to: sstevenson@berkeley.edu.
CONFIRMATION & INFORMATION PACKET
In April an information packet will be emailed or sent to you. It will contain the departure schedule, an equipment list, important forms to be filled out, and further program details. Camp orientation meetings will be held on Wednesdays: May 21 for Coastal Ecology, May 28 for both Research Camps, and June 4 for the Backpacking Camp. All orientations will be held at LHS at 7:00 p.m. Come meet counselors and other campers, and we’ll answer questions that you and your child have about camp. Camp T-shirts will be on sale, and prepaid orders for group photos will be taken at the orientations.
Scholarships
Lawrence Hall of Science has a limited number of partial scholarships available for those students who cannot afford to attend camp. Scholarships are limited to one per camper per year. Completed scholarship applications must be received by April 15, 2008. Call (510) 642-1334 for more information and to request a scholarship application.
Scholarship Donations
Share this wonderful camp experience with children who may not otherwise get to participate due to financial need. Your donation of any amount will go directly to providing camp scholarships. If you are paying by check, please include a separate check for a Camp Scholarship donation (marked “Camp Scholarship Fund”).
Cancellation Policies
If you cancel before May 15, you will receive a refund less a $150 cancellation fee. Cancellations received after May 15 will receive refunds, less the $150 late cancellation fee, only if a replacement camper from the waiting list can be enrolled. There will be no refunds 30 days or less before the program start date. A $25 processing fee will be charged for any transfer between camps; transfers are only possible between these residential camps, not between these camps and LHS summer day camps.
