Physical Science For Curious Kids Parent Child Icon

Young scientists make kites, magnetic toys, and light circuits to take home as they experiment and share their observations on topics such as electricity, magnetism, and properties of air and light. These activities foster an intuitive framework for later science learning.
Ages 4–5
4:00–5:00 p.m.

Eight Wednesdays
October 1–November 19

Storybook Science

Time for a story—and science too! Each week a different story sets the stage for activities and investigations to spark students' creativity and scientific thinking. Experiments with shadows and light, bubble blowing, nature explorations, and handling live animals are integrated with children's literature as well as math, art, and drama.
Ages 4–5
4:00–5:00 p.m.

Eight Fridays

Colorful Science

Open your eyes to a world of color that features a “rainbow”of science activities. Use leaves, branches, rocks, and mud to camouflage real turtles, lizards, and insects. Visit the planetarium with an astronomer to look for stars of different colors, and experiment with mixing colorful concoctions in the Chemistry Lab.
