Follow up your assembly with a Workshop for Teachers or for Students integrating science content through theatre.

Workshops:

Values and Controversial Issues

(grades 6-8)

Using theater to examine a societal issue of the students' choosing, this workshop can serve as a model for handling controversy and decision making in all arenas. To put individuals at ease in a performance environment, the workshop begins with warm-up exercises. The next step shows how controversial issues can be handled by examining all sides: decisions are not forced, a community sense is created, and learning is enhanced. Cooperation and respect for all ideas and views are taught. Students come away with an awareness of the complexity of many issues that affect them.

Topics: Topics are customized to match your students' interests. An LHS instructor will call prior to program to customize the activities.
